Day 1 of Christmas Reflections-
This is my attempt to relish in the joy and the blessings of the season.
To reflect on my memories, make new ones, and enjoy every minute by slowing down to record them.
Write: Write your thoughts about your families holiday values.
I think the most important value that we have is trying to remember the whole reason for Christmas. Last night during Family Home Evening, we talked to the kids about service. We explained that it is the greatest gift. Jonathan reminded the kids that a simple smile to someone you don’t know really can go a long way. I hope that our family can really focus on that this year.
I also love the idea of spending quality time together this month. I have prepared myself for just that very thing. I am all done with holiday shopping. I have made every gift that I wanted to so that the whole month can be dedicated to time and memories. I think sometimes the hustle and bustle causes us to forget those two things.
Photograph: Take a welcome to December photo.
I thought that the start of our advent calendar was a wonderful welcome to December photo. It really represents the kick-off to our little count down.
Remember: What is your earliest holiday memory?
I would have to say the year that I got my cabbage patch. I will always remember her sitting out under the tree. She had brown hair that was in pig tails, and wore a gray track suit. My sister and I both got one, and spent the whole day playing babies. My mom also made clothes for them. It was such a great Christmas. I still have my cabbage patch. Stella plays with her.
