Day 2 of Christmas Reflections-
Write: What does the word “Joy” mean to you? Does it play a part in your holidays?
I think that joy can only be described by a look on someone’s face. I see joy in Tessa’s eyes each time she accomplishes something new. I see it in my older kids when we praise them for something done right, or when we are doing something exciting as a family.
It always plays a part of our holidays because we do so much as a family. I feel the joy inside as I plan what our holidays will be about. I can see the joy as we talk about the service that we will do that year. The word joy really describes such a wonderful feeling. I have the word joy in three places in our home during the holidays as a reminder of what I am really trying to capture this holiday season.
Photo: Take a photo that represents the idea of joy.
Jonathan and I went to dinner in the city, and I saw the ice skaters. I just had to snap a photo. This is the perfect example of how the small holiday traditions create joy. Keeping up the traditions is what truly can bring the joy to the holidays, because it repeats the memories. It brings the memories the surface.
Remember: Think back to a time of holiday joy in your life.
I loved the Christmas that our family spent in the Caribbean. It was so hard to be away from our family, but it symbolized a beginning for ours. Our first Christmas morning with just our family.
